Got some nice rides this summer but not enough. Lookout, Williams, Steamboat, Willow and Crawfords all delivered on the occasions that I was there. Villa, not so. And I spent a lot of time at Villa. Hopefully October will be big. ;-)
I grew up in Connecticut but I've been in Colorado since forever. I started hang gliding in 1976 which peaked my interest in weather. I attended Metropolitan State University in Denver and received a degree in Atmospheric Science. Shortly after I accepted a position as a research scientist at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Earth System Research Laboratory in Boulder.
I met Susan while working at NOAA and we were married in 1986. She claims I married her for her truck (I did weld glider racks on it). We moved to Sugarloaf Mountain west of Boulder in 1992.
I took a break from Hang Gliding in the early 90's after the death of close friend, but then returned some years later. We've since moved to Salida, Colorado near the Villa Grove flying site.
